Top 13 Biotech Events to Attend in 2019

Biotech events are the perfect opportunity to find out who’s who in the industry, make new connections and strike new deals. To save you the trouble, we’ve compiled a lovely list of what we consider to be the top European (and one American) biotech events for you to attend in 2019. Don’t mention it, you’re welcome. 😉

BIO-Europe Spring

What: BIO-Europe Spring brings together the “who’s who” from the biotech, pharma and finance segments to allow delegates countless opportunities to engage with global life science partners.

What: BioVaria is a conference for researchers. The goal here is to improve the transfer of research results into application. BIO International Convention

What: BIO International is hosted by the Biotechnology Innovation Organization who represents over 1,100 biotech companies, academic institutions, state biotech centers and related organizations across the US and over 30 other nations.

When: June 3rd-6th

Where: Philadelphia, United States

Networking: Unparalleled networking opportunities with 16,000+ attendees from 67 countries.

Labiotech Refresh!

What: Refresh is the fun and casual way to connect with the biotech community in your area. These are intimate after-work events where you can relax, network, and drink some free beer.

When: Approximately every two months

Fireside chats: Each event will have two fireside chats with awesome speakers. You can also grab a beer with them after the interview to pick their brain on an interesting topic or just make a new friend.

What: BIO-Europe is Europe’s largest partnering conference serving the global biotechnology industry. BIO-Europe attracts a wide range of business leaders, including senior executives of leading biotech companies, business development teams from large and midsize pharmaceutical companies, investors and other industry experts. It’s the place to be to find new business partners.

When: November 11-13th

Where: Hamburg, Germany

What’s so good? The ability to have lots of one-to-one discussions, network and make new connections.

Inv€$tival Showcase

What: Inv€$tival will help investors uncover and identify investable opportunities. And all of this in collaboration and with backing from the global investment bank Jefferies, co-located with their annual London Healthcare Conference.

When: November 19th

Where: London, UK

Fun fact: This is the largest healthcare-dedicated conference in Europe.

CPhI worldwide

What: CPhI worldwide is one of the largest pharma conferences in Europe. You’ll be able to find every sector of the pharmaceutical market and attend over 150 free industry seminars. Because it’s all under one roof, it’s much easier to see the full scope of the industry and network with a variety of industry professionals.

When: November 5-7th

Where: Frankfurt, Germany

Highlight: The world’s largest pharmaceutical exhibition.


What: BioFIT operates as a platform to build partnerships for all public and private actors. BioFIT is also the European marketplace for pre-seed, seed and Series A investment in Life Sciences.

When: December 10-11th

Where: Marseille, France

What else? BioFit has the highest attending rate of academics, TTOs and research institutions. 


What: Building on the evolution of the past 18 years, Genesis 2019 will assemble senior executives and decision makers from across the Life Science, Healthcare and Technology field to present, discuss and demonstrate their collective insight and thought leadership for the sector, themselves and their stakeholders.
